According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Minnesota Vikings have reached an agreement with the University of Minnesota to use TCF Bank Stadium if necessary during the construction of a new stadium. It was announced last week that a tentative agreement had been reached for the Vikings to build a new stadium at or near the site of their current home, Mall of America Field.

The current capacity of TCF Bank Stadium is 50,805 and part of the current agreement would be for the University of Minnesota to add enough seats to accommodate the 53,000 or so season ticket holders that the Vikings have.

The Vikings played their regular season home finale of 2010 at TCF Bank Stadium after the roof collapsed at Mall of America Field due to heavy build up of snow and ice.
