NATIONAL WOMENS SOCCER LEAGUE

In 2013 the Houston Dynamo welcomed the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and its newest franchise, the Houston Dash, to BBVA Compass Stadium.

Kansas City Current

CPKC Stadium stands proudly at the Berkley Riverfront in Kansas City. It is part of the transformation of the city’s landscape in its early stages of development. The $117 million privately funded soccer-specific venue is the first of its kind built for women’s soccer, and it held its opening match on March 16, 2024, with a 5-4 victory over Portland in front of a sell-out crowd.

The San Diego Wave FC joined the NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League) and began play in 2022. They won the NWSL Shield in 2023 and the NWSL Challenge Cup in 2024.

Washington Spirit

The Washington Spirit is a charter member of the National Women’s Soccer League, beginning play in the inaugural 2013 season.

USL W LEAGUE

Indy Eleven

Indy Eleven of the USL Championship purchased a club in the USL W League to kick off its inaugural season of 2022. The 44-team league was created to provide opportunities for girls and women to play, coach, and work in soccer. The Eleven play in the Great Lakes Division and call the Grand Parks Events Center home for its matches.

WOMEN'S PREMIER SOCCER LEAGUE (WPSL)

Decatur FC

Decatur FC is a semi-professional women’s soccer club based in Decatur, Georgia. Founded in 2024, the club competes in the Peachtree Division of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL). As of the 2025 season, the WPSL is the largest women’s soccer league in the world, featuring over 150 clubs, and is also the longest-running active women’s soccer league in the United States.

SheBelieves Cup (Atlanta)

The SheBelieves movement was launched in the months leading up to the United States Women’s National Team’s (USWNT) 2015 World Cup victory, a team that may have cemented U.S. women’s soccer as the elite team in international play. It was this team that many feel launched the USWNT into prominence as the face of female empowerment in the world of sports. The goal of the SheBelieves movement is to “inspire new generations of young girls and women to be better and strive for better”. It also strive
