Stadium Reviews

Clover Stadium – New York Boulders
Palisades Credit Union Park is one of the nicer ballparks you’ll come across in your ballpark travels. Unfortunately, its location serves to keep it a hidden secret to many baseball fans. If this ballpark was located in a downtown area, it may be listed among the best in all of independent baseball.

Yankee Stadium - New York Yankees
The Yankees take a traditional approach to the game presentation; they are one of the few MLB teams without an in-game host, allowing the action on the field to be the primary focus.

Synovus Park – Columbus Clingstones
Synovus Park blends the charm of a historic stadium with modern amenities. The original design of the grandstand and roof remain largely untouched, preserving its nostalgic appeal.

ONEOK Field – Tulsa Drillers
The Driller organization creates a gameday atmosphere that is fun and interactive. With exciting music playing when the gates open and staff members, plus Hornsby the mascot, posted near the gate to greet patrons.

Optimist Park - Raleigh Red Oaks
The Raleigh Red Oaks have made their quaint home at Optimist Park. A visit here is a chance to see a baseball game in a scenic, bucolic, and unique setting at an affordable price. While it may not be as fancy as many other ballparks in the area, Optimist Park is still a great place to spend a warm summer's night watching some baseball.

Joseph L. Bruno Stadium – Tri-City ValleyCats
Even though The Joe was a victim of Minor League Baseball’s downsizing, it remains a solid facility, and an excellent addition to the growing Frontier League. Here’s hoping that Capital District baseball fans realize that the ValleyCats remain as entertaining as ever, and that the baseball played on the field might actually be better than what they saw in their affiliated days.

From the moment you arrive at Trustmark Park – now proudly known as “The Swamp” – it’s clear the stadium has fully embraced its new identity.

L.P. Frans Stadium – Hickory Crawdads
A Hickory Crawdads game may be small town baseball in a remote location, but it is still a worthwhile experience. L.P. Frans Stadium is gorgeous architecturally, and the Crawdads do a good job with promotions and fan engagement. It is disappointing they do not draw bigger crowds, but given its location, there may be little they can do about that.

Bulldog Field - Alabama A&M Bulldogs
There is not a lot to Bulldog Field, a rather modest facility. There are no exterior gates, no press box, and no permanent concessions – just a pair of bleachers set atop a small hill behind home plate.
