Grainger Stadium is a historic ballpark in a small town. While it isn't the fanciest stadium by any means, it has the charm and history that many of the newer venues lack. Unfortunately, the crowds have not shown up in recent years, particularly with the move to Indy Ball, and a Bird Dawgs game can feel like a ghost town at times.

The Cape Cod League’s one mainland ball field is rarely mentioned among its best parks, but it has a charm of its own. With the recent upgrades to the facility, the gate has been swung open for a repeat visit to Wareham.

Coming into the 2025 season, USL League One welcomed four expansion clubs: Naples, Portland, Texoma, and Westchester SC. Westchester's arrival gave the USL a foothold in the New York City metropolitan area, a market that has since grown even further with the addition of Brooklyn FC to the USL Championship.

Time will tell if Major League Baseball decides to descend on Nashville as an expansion destination. Until that time, the Nashville Sounds are more than filling the baseball void in Music City, in one of the best parks in Minor League Baseball.

The Braves took a major risk with the investment of Truist Park and the Battery, but the decision to move the Braves to Cobb County has paid off. The stadium and surrounding area has a constant buzz that can compete with any other in the country. A Braves game itself is high quality, but you should make the trip out of the city for the complete gameday experience.

While the talent in the Cape Cod League is certainly Major League caliber, the feel at the ballparks is small town. This is certainly true in Bourne, where the entire facility has been designed, built and maintained by the students at the technical high school on site.

There are very few major league ballparks that can be described as “classic”. Wrigley Field certainly does fill that description.
