KeyBank Center may not have the history of its predecessor, the beloved Aud, but it offers a much more comfortable environment.

We’ve all seen it happen, either in real life or on a SportsCenter highlight or TikTok reel – a couple is at a sporting event when, surprise, surprise, one of them drops down on one knee and pops the proverbial question.

On Saturday, September 10th in the very first playoff game of 2026, the Panthers fell to the Rams in a barn burner in Charlotte.

The Indiana Sentinels are a hockey club in the FPHL and have received strong support in their first year in Columbus, Indiana.

Meehan Auditorium, in use for over sixty years, gives you exactly what you would expect from an Ivy League hockey rink. It’s uniquely designed, it’s loaded with history and features a gameday presentation that is reserved and almost scholarly in nature. While often overlooked in a crowded New England hockey scene, Meehan Auditorium makes for an excellent Stadium Journey.

The Canadian Tire Centre is more than an adequate venue to watch a hockey game. Sens fans dreaming about a new shiny toy in downtown Ottawa might have to wait a bit before the Yellow Brick Road to the capital is complete.

Providence and the Amica Mutual Pavilion are often mentioned among the top American Hockey League travel destinations. The combination of a modern arena, frenzied fan support and a fantastic downtown area make The AMP a first-rate destination. Rhode Island has no shortage of quality hockey arenas in the area. It’s a quality Stadium Journey destination.

Springfield is an original AHL city, but it looked like their time in the league was done when the Falcons left town. That all changed when a new team and new ownership arrived, reinvigorating interest in minor league hockey in the city. The MassMutual Center may have a definite 70s vibe to its design, but the game day experience here is all new.

The OJHL moving from Brantford to King City is an interesting one.  The ownership situation in King is an interesting one as well.  The King Rebellion now enjoy their brand new facility in JTF Homes Arena @ Zancor Centre and time will tell if the Rebellion will be a long term staple for the area or a flash in the pan, much like the Upper Canada Rebellion of 1837.

After pressure from the Siskins alumni, in 2025, the GOHL’s Siskins returned to the “Waterloo Siskins” moniker, having previously played as the Kitchener-Waterloo Siskins.  The Siskins continue to put a solid product on the ice and the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex is a good facility which has benefited from some recent, key renovations.

The St. Thomas Stars are a solid franchise in the Junior B level GOHL.  St. Thomas has shown the love for their hometown hero, Hockey Hall of Famer, Joe Thornton.  The Joe Thornton Community Centre is a solid Junior B facility that offers good sightlines and comfort and taking in a Stars game has tremendous value for the sporting dollar.

The newest member of the QMJHL has hockey fans talking.  There are high hopes for the return of hockey to Newfoundland and the results are being seen at the turnstile.  Hopefully the Newfoundland Regiment have a long and successful reign at Mary Brown’s Centre in spite of the travel challenges it brings the league.  Hockey on the Rock is a necessity and Junior Hockey is the perfect fit.

It’s a new era for hockey on the Gulf Coast. The Sea Wolves have sailed off, and from the warm waters of the Gulf has emerged something new – the Biloxi Breakers, the newest franchise in the FPHL.

Although this arena’s days are numbered, going to the Saddledome to take in a Flames game is still always a good time.

The Space Needle might be the most visited attraction in Seattle but Climate Pledge Arena is quickly becoming a must see venue for sports fans and concert devotees.

Taking in a Brock Badgers hockey game will give the fans the opportunity to catch a consistently competitive hockey team play in a bright, clean and comfortable setting.  It is worth checking out Niagara Region and Brock University for a bit of Brockey Night in Canada.

All hockey fans should consider making a pilgrimage to see the Toronto Maple Leafs and extend the trip to see the city of Toronto and especially the Hockey Hall of Fame.  Scotiabank Arena remains among the premier venues in the league and MLSE has done a spectacular job keeping the arena relevant for the last two decades and continuing to revamp and upgrade the experience.

Mullett Arena offers a great game day college hockey experience for both players and fans.

Although it may be the smallest centre in the OJHL, the Haliburton County Huskies are putting together a big time experience.  S.G. Nesbitt Memorial Arena is one of the cleanest, brightest facilities in the league and fans will have a wonderful time at a Huskies game. 

The Maryland Terrapins compete in Division II of the ACHA, and as there is no ice arena on campus, they play their home games in nearby Laurel, at the Laurel Ice Gardens, a municipal rink that is home to several different amateur teams.
