This is a bucket list experience. If you only ever see one college basketball game, let it be in the Phog.

The Canisus Golden Griffins provide a college basketball experience that is appropriate for the size of the school and conference they play out of.  The opportunity is there for a great experience at Koessler Athletic Center, one that is enhanced even more when the Griffs are playing the rival Niagara Purple Eagles.

Cassell Coliseum is an old arena, but is still going strong after over 60 years. With raucous fans, especially the Cassell Guard student section, and an electrifying atmosphere from pregame until the final buzzer, a Virginia Tech basketball game is a top-notch fan experience.

Gentry Center is a large concrete facility with a somewhat imposing exterior. The building has few windows, though it appears to have undergone some updates in recent years, including the addition of an aquatics and fitness center.

The Horizon League has announced that its men’s and women’s basketball championship tournament will move to The Arena at Innovation Mile in Noblesville, Indiana, in 2027. The agreement runs through at least 2031, bringing postseason excitement and thousands of fans to the fast-growing northern Indianapolis suburb.

The Cabot Center is by no means a suitable permanent home for the Husky basketball teams. But compare this facility to other small gyms in the area, and it doesn’t really come up short. As Northeastern’s new athletics home is built, the sturdy Cabot Center will ably hold down the fort for the next two or three seasons.

The original domed structure at Moody Coliseum created a multi-purpose seating bowl that surrounds the floor in a circular style. This ensures that all the padded, folding seats face the court, creating quality sightlines for all fans.

The Clark Athletic Center, while looking very much a product of its time, still offers traveling fans a chance to take in quality basketball at an affordable price. While far from the bright lights of big-time college hoops, small gyms like this make for interesting Stadium Journeys. Don’t sleep on Division Three sports!

Taking in a Niagara Purple Eagles basketball game offers fans an intimate local for Division I basketball on a small campus.  Gallagher Center offers a solid environment and fans won’t be able to complain about the price tag.

Moody Coliseum has all the modern accessories that fans enjoy, but what really makes Moody Coliseum special is the intimate feel of its basketball gymnasium.

The Eblen Center’s exterior has a subtle coliseum feel, with brick construction and large glass entrances. Inside, however, the court area feels more modern, featuring a seating bowl made entirely of padded black seats that complement the school’s purple-and-gold color scheme.

The Dedmon Center is an architecturally unique arena. Attending a Radford basketball game feels like watching basketball in a giant tent, with a fabric roof overhead, and giant curtains on the sides. The unusual setup ensures this doesn't just feel like some generic arena as many other places do, and the pregame introductions try to set the stage, but there is so much more potential here if Radford would draw better crowds.

The Ryan Center is an excellent venue that suffers in comparison to its peers primarily due to its location. Place this outstanding arena in a more populated area, and the rave reviews would roll in. Still, it’s a great place to catch a basketball game. If you’re planning a Stadium Journey through New England, the Ryan Center should absolutely be on your list.
