Stadium Journey’s Pecos League Stadium Ranking 2026
The Pecos League is an independent baseball league stretching across the desert and mountain regions of Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. Stadium Journey has visited 10 of the league’s 14 ballparks; the Austin Weirdos operated as a traveling team in 2026, though we previously reviewed their former home stadium. We congratulate the Garden City Wind for capturing the 2026 championship.
Though teams come and go in this league, currently, four parks remain on our to‑visit list: the Blackwell FlyCatchers, North Platte 80s, Pecos Bills, and the new Grand Junction Razorback Suckers. If you’re interested in contributing a review to Stadium Journey, we’d love to hear from you.
Founded in 2011, the Pecos League has carved out a unique place in independent baseball, and for the first time, Stadium Journey is ranking its ballparks. Rankings are based on our patented FANFARE system, which evaluates food and beverage, game‑day atmosphere, neighborhood, fan support, access (both inside and outside the venue), return on investment, and a bonus category for anything that falls outside the standard criteria. When stadiums earn identical scores, the Stadium Journey Council of Elders steps in to break the tie. To read each full review, simply follow the link for the corresponding ballpark.
Meg Minard - The cleverly named Dublin Leprechauns, founded in 2023, play their home games at Fallon Park, a premiere sports complex owned and operated by the City of Dublin, CA. The Leprechauns play in Ball Field G at the corner of Fallon Rd and Central Pkwy.
Meg Minard - Baseball has been part of Bakersfield, CA for 85 years, and Sam Lynn Ballpark has welcomed generations of fans through its gates. Built in 1941, it hosted multiple California League clubs before the Bakersfield Train Robbers of the independent Pecos League made it their home in 2017.
Meg Minard - Baseball fans visiting Santa Fe should try to catch a Fuego game during the May - July stretch. The costs are low enough that most fans should find a Fuego game budget‑friendly. Just keep in mind that the ballpark can be tough to navigate if you use a wheelchair, walker, cane, or feel unsteady on your feet.
Marc Viquez - The traveling team in 2026, the Weirdos played their inaugural 2022 season at Parque Zaragoza. Management acknowledges this venue is not the ideal place for a game and want to make Austin its home for the foreseeable future. However, the team’s branding is on point with the city’s slogan, “Keep Austin Weird.”
Meg Minard - Capturing their first-ever league title on August 8, 2026, the Wind provide an entertaining, affordable evening out. If you live in the area or happen to be visiting nearby, be sure to check out a game at Clint Lightner Field.
Meg Minard - The Triggers have established themselves well in Trinidad, CO and in the Pecos League, beginning with their debut in the 2012 season. The Triggers play at Central Park Field, a city park located one mile from downtown Trinidad, CO. The city of Trinidad made several improvements to the field and park for this team: updates to the bullpens, adding a cement backing/wall to the seating area, improvements to the grass seating areas and the field itself.
Meg Minard – Charter members of the league, an Invaders game provides a low-key, local, welcoming impression where the focus is still more on the game than other extra activities. If in Roswell, NM visiting UFO and alien-related items during June and July, make an effort to head to Joe Bauman Stadium to catch a relaxed, entertaining baseball game.
Watching a Tucson Saguaros game is an enjoyable, affordable way to spend an evening out. Tickets are only $10 general admission ($8 for seniors). Fans can sit wherever they choose, roam around, and switch seats as desired. Parking is free. The food is inexpensive for stadium fare. Even the t-shirts are only $20. Baseball fans get a pleasant, albeit warm, evening out.
Meg Minard - If you find yourself in the Bay Area, take a trip to San Rafael for an affordable, entertaining baseball game. The city of San Rafael and the Pacifics consistently make alterations and improvements to Albert Park for the betterment of the fans. Examples include a new scoreboard, upgraded restrooms, and new fencing along the ADA ramp and in front of the dugout.
Meg Minard - Visiting Martinez, CA and the Martinez Sturgeon is a delightful day trip or evening out during the summer months. Grab your family or friends, take a trip to this historic city, and catch a game. The fans are very welcoming to all visitors and are easy to strike up a conversation with.
