Before becoming a coaching icon, Stanky enjoyed a successful 10-year big league career, earning four All-Star selections, appearing in three World Series, and playing alongside Jackie Robinson. After managing the Cardinals and White Sox, Stanky arrived at the University of South Alabama in 1968 and transformed the Jaguars into a Sun Belt powerhouse.
