The 2013 Winnipeg Blue Bombers will, at long last, be moving into their new digs. The Bombers have been playing at Canad Inns Stadium since 1953 and were planning to move into the new facility, Investors Group Field, in 2012. That plan fell though due to construction delays, forcing the team to make changes, move back to their old home and refund a bunch of tickets to the new field.
The good news is that Investors Group Field will definitely be open for business for the 2013 CFL season and the new stadium is absolutely state-of-the-art. Wide seats, tremendous legroom and huge video screens in both endzones are among the many features of the new stadium.
The Blue Bombers have also been keeping fans in the loop as to the progress with constant photo and video updates on the construction. A time lapse video on the Bombers' website shows the building of the stadium from its July 2011 start to September, 2012.
All things being equal, this should be a very interesting venue to visit when it opens its doors for business next summer.
