6,225 more cowbells, to be exact. Mississippi State has announced plans for a $75 million expansion to Davis Wade Stadium that will see the stadium's capacity rise to 61,337. This expansion should be finished in time for the 2014 season.
In addition to adding seats to the north end zone, Mississippi State will also add a new club level, field-level suites and a second video board that will almost be as large as the already-existing video board behind the south end zone.
Mississippi State isn't the first SEC team to announce a stadium expansion. LSU recently announced plans to expand Tiger Stadium, which will increase that stadium's capacity to over 100,000.
