Andrew Van Cleve's mantra is "any game, anywhere," and he has stuck by that philosophy over his years of stadium travel. When his son, Dylan, was born in 2010, Andrew kept up his travel scheduling, taking Dylan to his first game at iconic Wrigley Field when he was just a week old.
Throughout his travels, Van Cleve has earned the moniker "The Ultimate Fan" and has passed down that nickname, calling his son, "The Ultimate Sports Baby." His journeys have taken him from the European Championship in Switzerland in 2008 to baseball in Japan. Looking at the list of "other" sports he has attended is mind boggling. It includes badminton, billiards, bull riding, dog racing, pro fishing, table tennis, and water polo to name a few.
In addition, Van Cleve has attended games at nearly 200 professional stadiums of the four major sports (not to mention dozens of International soccer stadiums in almost every country in Europe) and only needs to attend one more stadium in each league to have attended all 122. He has also been to over 1100 MLB games, 275 NBA games, 185 NFL games and 260 NHL games.
Van Cleve has chronicled many of his best travel tips on his blog Anygame Anywhere.
Andrew Van Cleve is nominated for the Stadium Journey Hall of Fame in the category of general travel. Nominations are no longer being accepted. Voting will occur beginning in July, and the inaugural class will be announced in late July.
