Enjoying "The Buck"
The Buck Motorsports Park is a motorsports entertainment facility located in Quarryville (Buck), Pennsylvania. It was founded as a weekly tractor pull track in 1974; it has expanded into a prominent seasonal entertainment venue.
"The Buck" as it is known, operates on Saturday nights from mid-April through mid-October. The venue hosts truck and tractor pulls, demolition derbies, mud bogs, monster truck shows (such as the Renegade Monster Truck Tour), rodeos, and tuff trucks. We attended on of its rodeo nights, but you can be assured that generally the experience is pretty much the same at any of its events.
The venue was purchased in 2021 by monster truck driver and promoter Zane Rettew (founder of Rettew Motorsports and the Renegade Monster Truck Tour).
Food & Beverage 3
Food concessions stands are located throughout the park and feature “county fair type” food at family friendly prices: hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, Bricker’s Famous Fries, cotton candy, snow cones, water, Pepsi products, milkshakes, hand-squeezed lemonade, funnel cakes and More.
These are simple and not too exciting options but they deliver exactly what you would expect.
There may also be some more food trucks and tents depending on the event.
Atmosphere 4
Seating is on simple stands located the entire length on both sides of the track. There are some limited seat backs, which seem to be the only seats that are assigned as the rest is general admission. You can also bring lawn chairs and sit at ground level, but the view is pretty limited by fencing. Signage is posted where lawn chairs are not permitted. Limited handicap seating is available on the bottom row of the announcer side grandstands.
The fans can get pretty hyped up depending on the event. Also expect some of the motorsports events to be quite loud.
There is a nice videoboard along one side of the track. The PA system works well.
Neighborhood 3
The Buck is situated in the unincorporated community of Buck, East Drumore Township, Lancaster County, along Pennsylvania Route 272. It is also referred to as being in Quarryville, which is the closest "real" town.
There is one food option nearby the facility in Rosie's Pizza Restaurant. You can also venture into Quarryville where Two Cousins Pizza and Peking Chinese are also good options.
The Willow Street area of Lancaster is only about seven miles north on 272. There are a few options there and you also can venture even further into Lancaster for many more choices.

These are the kind of events that draw a pretty excited crowd. Fans tend to be really into the events that happen at The Buck.
Access 4
The Buck is right off of Route 272, which is a simple 2-lane state highway. Traffic can back up but it goes faster than one would expect.
Parking is grass lots surrounding the venue. The parking staff really knows how to get fans in and out as fast as one could expect from the limited options. It is one of the best prepared and professional parking staff that we have seen in quite some time. You still may want to have some patience as there will be a lot of fans trying to go in the same limited directions.
Return on Investment 4
Prices will vary depending on the event. There are usually family options, as well as prices for vets, kids and seniors. Expect the larger national events to have higher prices than the normal week events.

Depending on the event, there will likely be pre-event entertainment on a stage near the food booths.
There is a really good store selling Buck merchandise.
Final Thoughts
"The Buck" offers fun, and sometimes loud, entertainment at a simple but effective venue in Southern Lancaster County.
