Barangay Ginebra San Miguel (Ginebra) has been a member of the PBA since 1979, beginning as Gilbey’s Gin.

Built in 1981, PhilSports (also known as The Ultra, and the PSC) regularly hosted PBA games from 1985-1992 and 1999-2007.

The Hawks entered Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL) in 1979 and are the last remaining foundation club.
