Top 15 Stadium Experiences of 2014 in Louisiana

by Paul Donaldson - Jan 30, 2015 8:08 PM EST

Whether it’s Saturday nights at Tiger Stadium or Sundays in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Louisiana is home to some of the great sports experiences in the country. But which stadium experiences in the Sportsman’s Paradise rank near the top in the state?

Stadium Journey ranks stadium experiences based on the FANFARE scale which assesses (F) Food and Beverages, (A) Atmosphere, (N) Neighborhood, (F) Fans, (A) Access, (R) Return on Investment, and (E) Extras to generate an overall score on a five point scale. With nearly every significant stadium experience covered in the state of Louisiana, we’re ready to count down the Top 15 Louisiana stadium experiences from 2014. Be sure to click on the link next to each description for the full review of each stadium.

While this list is headlined by a few of the usuals, be on the look-out for some hidden gems within the state that you may not have considered before. It just might be time to book a sports road trip weekend.

NOTE: We haven’t reached every stadium experience in the state just yet (missing a few like the Bayou Classic between Southern and Grambling at the Superdome, ULL’s ‘The Tigue’ and McNeese State’s Cowboy Stadium, but we’re scheduled to visit these stadiums in 2015).

Even when they say it's going to snow, it often just doesn't.

Ten days before Super Bowl Sunday, I'm standing with about 25 other laborers in the field level seats area at about the 50-yard line of MetLife Stadium. About eight inches of snow fell the previous night, and I'm shoveling hard. The snow is light, but there's a ton of it.
