Stanford and San Francisco to Square Off at Oracle Arena

By Ryan Norris -- November 07, 2012 7:12 PM EST

College basketball in Northern California tips off this Friday, November 9th as the San Francisco Dons and Stanford Cardinal square off at Oracle Arena. The arena will serve as a neutral site for the teams as each begins their regular season.

Last year, USF finished 20-14 (8-8 in conference) on their way to the semifinals of the WCC Tournament where they lost to Saint Mary's. The Dons were bounced in the first round of the CBI Tournament by Washington State.

For their part, Stanford finished last season 26-11 (10-8 in conference) before losing in the PAC-12 quarterfinals to bitter rivals California. They bounced back by winning the NCAA NIT Tournament. They were victorious in the championship game over Minnesota.

Tickets for Friday night's game start at $15 and can be purchased here.
