Minor League baseball teams are notorious for the creative promotions they use to entice fans to come to a game. This is especially true of the non-affiliated professional leagues which are doing everything they possibly can to get people in the seats. The Florence Freedom (KY) of the Frontier League are setting a new high (or low depending on your view) by giving away 1,000 Manti Te'o Girlfriend Bobbleheads to fans at their game on Thursday, May 23rd. There's just one catch.
The boxes for the bobblehead doll will be empty. Freedom General Manager Josh Anderson said in a press release, "This will be the best kind of bobblehead a fan could get, [b]ecause now fans can make the bobblehead out to be whatever they want it to be."
This promotion is a little bit tasteless, and a little bit genius. There's no doubt that this is unique. Read more about the promotion at the Florence Freedom website.
Does this promotion make you more or less likely to go see a game at UC Health Stadium this season?
